Behind the name Reduce 2

Saving the planet by degree!

The Paris Agreement on climate change was adopted on 12 December 2015 at COP21. Its overarching goal is to hold “the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels” and pursue efforts “to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.” By reducing the planet's warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius or lower, the hope is to stave off severe climate disruptions that could exacerbate hunger, conflict and drought worldwide. Let’s limit the increase to less than 2 degrees. Reduce 2!
